Panic Away – Anxiety and Panic Attacks

About a year ago, I had a social anxiety disorder which is basically someone who is afraid that he or she will make mistakes and be embarrassed or humiliated in front of others. I knew it was a sign of anxiety symptoms. At first I thought I was just the shy type and It was nothing to worry about, but it got worst every as the days went by. I was getting anxiety attacks then as the days when on, it increased to panic attacks. It was extremely embarrassing especially when I was having these attacks in public.

My aunt suffered from a different type of panic attack in the past. While she was home alone, two guys tried to robbed the house while her and her child (was one year old at the time) was home alone. They figured no one was home because they kept ringing the door bell, but she didn’t open the door because she was busy taking care of her child. Well as she went downstairs to open the door, she saw the two guys and she ran the opposite side to get out of the house and to a neighbors house to call the police.  Thank goodness nothing happened to her or her child, but after that day she started suffering from panic attacks. She was afraid to stay home alone and would never leave her husband’s side. She would barely eat (she lost a lot of weight) and was kind of acting crazy at times. That’s when she decided to get help and got the Panic Away program and finally got rid of her anxiety and panic attacks. Well that’s enough of her, back to me.

Causes Of Anxiety Attacks

What are the causes of anxiety attacks? An anxiety attack occurs when due to sudden fear or anxiety. Some people experience attacks once or twice during the week, but some other may experience it numerous of times during a single week. When you experience more than three anxiety attacks in a single week, that’s called a panic attack.  If you see signs of anxiety symptoms, you should get help right away. Although it’s more common in women than in men, any gender can experience it and needs to get it treated right away before it gets worst.

Don’t worry though, anxiety and panic attacks can be treated with the right treatment. The body’s reaction to feared situation is the cause of anxiety and panic attack, so as long as you know how to control your fear, you can treat it. Sometimes a brain will misinterprets a situation that’s life threatening and when you are faced with a dangerous situation, you have to run away, but these attacks happens when it gets out of hand.

There are other causes of anxiety attacks such as incidents from the past. This is quite common actually. This was the cause of my Aunt’s panic attack which I will talk in another post. Don’t worry though, she doesn’t have panic attacks anymore thanks to the program I referred her to.

Anxiety Symptoms – Symptoms of Anxiety

There are over a 100 symptoms of anxiety since each person is unique such as the type, intensity, and frequency of anxiety symptoms will vary from person to person. Let me list you a few panic attack symptoms and anxiety symptoms.

  • Allergy problems – If you are seeing an increase in allergies problem such as noticing that you are more allergic to more substances or that your allergies take longer to subside.
  • Blanching – You look blanched, pale, pasty, and without color. You look like you have a sickness.
  • Your face is red – Your skin feels flushed, turns red, or blushes. You can’t control your blushing, flushing or turning red.
  • Body jolt – You feel like your body has received a electrical jolt although some people can describe this as a body shake.
  • Body temperature – Your body seems to fluctuate temperature higher or lower than normal. This is a sign of anxiety symptoms.
  • Chest Pains – If you feel any pains on the chest such as pressure, shooting pains, muscle twitches, burning, numbness, an uneasiness, or fullness.
  • Choking – You feel as there is something in your throat and also feel like you can barely swallow and there is a tightness feeling to your throat.
  • Fatigue -  You become exhausted extremely easy and burnt out with no energy.
  • Fear – Your fears are higher than normal. You fear what people think of you. This is a sign of stress symptoms.
